Career Center: About Us

Hi! I’m Lauren. Hi, I’m Kaitlyn! Hi, my name is Sam. Hi, I’m Liz! Hi, I’m Christina. Hi, I’m Jarrod! I’ve worked at the Career Center for two years
as a peer advisor. — for four semesters as a career services assistant. — for two semesters as a peer advisor. — for two semesters as a career services assistant. — for two semesters as a peer advisor. — for two semesters as a career services assistant. The comment I hear most often from students
is, “What is the Career Center,” or “Where is the Career Center?” The comment I hear most from students
who come into the Career Center is that they don’t know what they want to do with their life. The comment I hear the most is, “How do I
look for a job,” or “How do I find an internship?” The comment I hear most often from students
is if it’s okay that they’re undecided…and the answer is, “Yes!” As a peer advisor, the most unique thing that
I’ve seen on a resume is a profile picture, which isn’t necessary. The comment I hear most often as a peer advisor
is, “Can I keep this career guide?” We have these career guides all over our office,
and we definitely want you to take them. So, my best tip for you would be, when you get this career guide from us, actually open it. It’s filled with a lot of valuable knowledge that you will definitely want to have on your career search. My personal best tip would be to come into
the Career Center to sit down and talk with a career consultant about your major. The best tip I have is to check out our website. We have resources, information, and access
to our jobs portal. The best tip that I have is to come by the
Career Center to get a headshot done — but leave it off the resume. My best tip for students here is to take advantage
of the Career Center as soon as possible because it’ll really benefit you in the end. Come see us in the Career Center! Come and see us at the Career Center! Come see us at the Career Center! Come see us here at the Career Center! But seriously, come see us in the Career Center.
