Career story: Christoph Basser, Estimator, Service EMEA

My name is Christoph Basser. I work for Konecranes in the internal sales department. My education is mechatronics, and my further education is professionally certified engineering also in mechatronics. I work in the service office in Duisburg, Germany. I am responsible for repair quotation, which includes various repair parts, UVV inspections and different repair offers. I have been with the company since July 2013. Initially working as a service technician. After about two years, around May 2015, I started office tasks to assist Service Planner (service call and repairs planning) and Maintenance Planner including planning repairs, UVV inspections and maintenance. And since May 2017, I am in the internal sales department. This means I am officially an office employee, and I‘m very happy with that. The most important thing for me at my job is that we enjoy our work, that we always have personal challenges and that we are personally satisfied with our work. What makes Konecranes unique are their excellent career opportunities because you are working in a group of companies. The cooperative working environment is very, very helpful. Informal communication is really important in a global company, because you work better with someone you can easily talk to. Of course, I would like to see new colleagues who are technically versed or interested in technical products, who are team players and are willing to integrate with our team. Maybe he or she will be sitting here soon.
